Welcome to 2009-2010 edition of Resurrection Lutheran Academy's website. Our theme this year has been based on Matthew 5:1-12 and is titled “Get A Bee Attitude”. The teachers have worked hard to teach what Jesus meant when he shared the Beatitudes during the Sermon on the Mount. It has been great to watch various children adopt some of these Be-attitudes for their daily living. 

We also have focused once again on teaching children about service to their community, their church and their fellow man. This fits nicely into the Mission Statement of our our school. “Resurrection Lutheran Academy – planted, nurtured, and growing by the Cross – provides a Christ-centered environment for academic excellence, while cultivating a lifetime of spiritual growth and service to God.”

A big part of our school year has been the process of National Lutheran School Accreditation. Thirty-five people working on eleven committees have completed a Self-Study that took one year to complete. The preliminary report stated that our Team gave us unanimous recommendation for approval. The report indicates that our evaluators have found a wonderful school with dedicated, hard-working, caring teachers. We serve children whose parents desire an education that is more than reading, writing, and arithmetic. They want the “Be-Attitude” that comes with teaching that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior of all. He loves each and everyone of our children. He gave His life for the sins of all of us. In June, the Indiana District Commission for National Lutheran School Accreditation will review our application and then it will be on to St. Louis for an August review by the National NLSA Commission. We are certain that both agencies will grant us our first Accreditation.

As you look through this website I pray that you will discover a school filled with the love of Jesus. The smile on the faces and the fun activities may catch your eye. Most websites will have similar pictures. But, there is a difference. The difference lies in the presence of Jesus. We are a school focused on the Cross of Jesus. Our Father in Heaven sacrificed the life of His precious Son that we might be free from the burden of sin. That is the reason we smile!
