It is hard to believe that we are already at the Thanksgiving Break. As we gather around friends and family to give thanks for our many blessings I think we should remember to give thanks for RLA. God has established this place where the Cross of Jesus Christ is first and foremost in everything we do. In a world that is quickly turning its back on God it is good to have a place where children are allowed to pray and develop a personal relationship with their Savior.
That personal relationship with their Lord is the reason that I see a wonderful group of children when I visit classrooms and walk the hallways. While we teach from a clearly Lutheran perspective, it is clear that children of all types of backgrounds are comfortable and happy. This is no easy task with what the world throws at our children. Wonderful Christian teachers nurture each child's development academically, physically, socially and spiritually. What a joy it is to be the Principal of this school!
Lately, I have heard numerous stories from parents who have children in RLA for their first year. They all tell me stories about how RLA is far advanced from what their children experienced at their previous schools. While I am proud to hear such stories, I am even more proud when someone tells me that there is something special happening inside our walls. That “specialness” is the welcomed presence of Jesus. It's not just by chance that Jesus walks our hallways, it is because He has been invited and welcomed to do so.
Soon we will be celebrating the birth of Christ and shortly after that we will reach the end of the first semester. Where has time gone? Once we get to the end of the semester, it isn't long before we will begin the annual registration process for the 2010-2011 school year.
